New Delhi: A new pay transparency law in New York City went into effect last week on November 1, making it easy for job hunters to check how much salary is being offered by companies like Google, Twitter, PepsiCo, JPMorgan among others to their employees.

The law requires businesses hiring in New York City to show “good faith” salary ranges that include minimum and maximum pay for all job postings, promotions and transfer opportunities, according to CNBC. Not doing so could result in a fine.

If someone reports that a company has not listed salary range for a job posting, they’ll have 30 days from receiving a notice from the New York City Commission on Human Rights to update their job postings. If not done, they could be fined up to $250,000 per violation.

Ahead of the law taking effect on November 1, several big firms started including pay ranges on their job postings with Google being one among them.

Here’s what top firms in New York City are offering to pay new employees:

Google: An ads privacy specialist at Google working out of New York can expect to earn a base salary between $135,000 and $209,000, plus a bonus and other benefits. A revenue specialist, on the other hand, can expect to make between $103,000 and $157,000.

Twitter: In NYC, a staff machine learning engineer at Twitter can expect to make between $212,000 and $297,000, while a senior workforce analyst can earn between $142,000 and $200,000.

Amazon: The e-commerce major is offering something between $121,000 and $235,200 to a senior product manager while the salary range for a corporate counsel in NYC is 172,000 to $190,000.

Deloitte: For an applied AI analyst, the listed base salary is $90,000. A consultant on the health care team can expect to make $105,000.

JPMorgan: While a private client advisor in New York can expect a base salary of $58,500, an associate can get paid between $135,000 and $200,000 per year. The investment banking company lists the salary for head of fixed income portfolio specialists between $300,000 to $500,000.

Pepsi Co: The company’s listed salary range for a senior manager of strategic foresights and future visions is $132,000 to $142,300. An ecommerce insights manager can expect to be paid $126,400 to $215,000.

Citigroup: The salary range for an investment sales lead is $200,000 to $300,000, while a quantitative analyst in New York can expect to make between $150,000 and $225,000.

Louis Vuitton: The luxury fashion house will pay its director of store planning anywhere between $170,000 to $200,000.
